Welcome all. World Environment Day falls on a Tuesday, and because we all have very busy lives, Koala Carbon Credits has changed the times to suit families, to plant a tree after school. Instead of going to the football practice or ballet school we’re hoping that instead you spare one day of the year to come down to plant koala food trees in the afternoon AFTER SCHOOL and AFTER WORK.
Our major sponsors Kennards Hire will provide the lighting needed for later in the evening. Here is Daniel setting-up the lights and BBQ, thanks very much to Daniel from Wetherill Park and his and staff support. Also thanks to Blacktown council who came out to water the trees as we planted them. Vince from Blacktown worked non-stop watering ensuring the trees get a good start and he watered some of the trees planted last year. Thanks again Vince.
Today we had a very special group come out to plant from Greening Australia, called Green Corp. Katherine and her group heard about us and decided to come out and support our cause. They brought along their families and friends. Here are some smiling faces on the day. On behalf of Planet Ark, Kennards Hire and the Dragway we appreciate all the support from the local businesses to help promote this worthy cause.
That night we planted just over 400 koala food trees. Well done. On behalf of Koala Retreat we hope everyone enjoyed themselves and hope to see you again, at one of the eight scheduled tree planting Dates.
The night itself was a great night. It is difficult to see clearly the footage shown on the web-site but believe me it was a great still night, not too cold at all!
